Myles Kennedy has released a video for "The Great Beyond." The black and white clip features live footage of Kennedy and his band performing in theaters and outdoor stages. Watch the brooding clip in the player above.

The spiritual and orchestrated track is featured on Kennedy's solo debut Year of the Tiger, which was released back in March. The concept album focuses on the death of Kennedy's father in 1974, which was the Year of the Tiger in the Chinese calendar.

“My family was very involved in the Christian Science church,” Kennedy said about his family's faith. The church does not believe in medical treatment for ailments, believing prayer to be the primary form for healing. Sadly, the singer lost his father at the age of four. “When he became ill, he chose not to seek medical attention and passed away a few months later. By all accounts, my father was a good, honest man, but I still struggle with the choices he made which ultimately led to his death," says Kennedy.

In "The Great Beyond" Kennedy sings: "In denial, the seed and son / The one who will pay the most / Will revile the one he loves / Too bitter to let this go."

Year of the Tiger is available now. Fans can order the effort here.

Myles Kennedy recently wrapped a tour with Slash, which included an epic show in New York City. He kicks off his solo tour in Chicago on Nov. 13. See all his tour dates here.
