Nancy Wilson is one of the most underrated guitar players in Rock N Roll. I saw her with Heart open up for Van Halen in the early 80s and she was amazing on guitar. Not just acoustic either, she kicks ass on electric too.

During the coronavirus pandemic, Nancy and her husband Jeff moved to Northern California and built a home studio. Since Nancy Wison had the time she decided to finally do a solo album. Let me tell you, it's a great album.

Nancy Wilson's first solo album, You and Me include originals, covers, and some pretty cool guests on the album. Sammy Hagar joins her on Paul Simons "The Boxer" and  Duff McKagan from Guns and Roses and Taylor Hawkins from The Foo Fighters joining Nancy on rockin "Party at the Angel Ballroom".

The original tunes on the album like the title song, "You and Me" about her mom are beautiful. Her tribute to Eddie Van Halen, "4 Edward" is a response to a song that Eddie wrote for her when they were on tour together in the late 70s.

Nancy tells the story of giving EVH his first acoustic guitar and talks about recording her first solo album during the pandemic while talking to me. She also said that Heart will tour in 2022 and they will most likely start their tour in Upstate New York. Check out the entire interview below.
