New Distillery Opens in Downtown Albany’s Warehouse District
Vodka, Brandy, Whiskey, and Gin oh my!
The Capital Region just got another addition to the craft beverage industry in the form of a new distillery in Downtown Albany's Warehouse District.
The new spot is is the latest venture from owner Doug Estadt who according to the TU had previously had a winery and distillery in Windahm and relocated in the Capital Region to open Capital Distillery. Located at 32 Learned St. in Albany in what used to a Bruegger's Bagles production facility Capital Distillery has just opened its bar, tasting room and bottle shop.
If you have a taste for the finer things in life I think you are going to like what the Capital Distillery has in store for you. They are currently selling and sampling vodka; rosé vodka (with cabernet franc rosé wine); gin; pink gin (with peels of lemon, orange and grapefruit, and cherry juice); maple whiskey; and honey brandy. I will tell you though, these beverages do not coming cheap. All batches are being sold in the bottle shop at $50 for a 750ml bottle with the exception of the maple whiskey, which is $60.
If you are looking to get a taste of the new drinks you can purchase bottles at the bottle shop and tasting room between noon and 5 p.m. Monday - Saturday or visigt the bar for cocktails between 4p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday's and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. You know if you are still searching for that perfect holiday gift sometimes a little booze goes along way.
