New Donut Shop is Out of This World

If there's one thing Upstate New York has a lot of, it's donut shops. You practically can't drive a block or two without running into a Dunkin' or Ciderbelly or any one of several independent donut shops in the area. Well, now add one more to the mix and it's a unique take on specialty donuts.

It apparently all started with a dream according to a post on the Cosmic Donuts Facebook page. "We had this crazy dream years ago of opening a donut shop and we can’t believe it’s finally becoming a reality."

Well, the reality is that Cosmic Donuts, at 3 Albany Avenue in Kinderhook, opens today, Monday, October 19th. This, after months of setting up "pop up" shops throughout the Hudson Valley according to the Times Union.

Cosmic Donuts is owned by Jhori Jugerson, her husband, and her mom.

The apple pie donuts have been a fan favorite and include a "shot" of apple cider stuck in the top of the donut. They also have a blueberry french toast donut that includes a "shot" of maple syrup stuck in the top too.

Not only does Cosmic Donuts have out of this world donuts, but also specialty coffee too.
