How'd you spend your Friday night? Perhaps lying on a basement floor with your face submerged in water, while being spanked with a wooden paddle and begging for mercy? No? Perhaps if there was cold water being poured on your head from a garden hose? Still doesn't sound fun? Albany police didn't think it was so great either when they arrived at 470 Hudson Ave. in response to a noise complaint.

Albany police found 14 individuals in the basement participating in what appeared to be a hazing or initiation into an 'unsanctioned group or fraternity' where some of the people sustained minor cuts and abrasions but they refused medical attention. Perhaps we could call the nine guys arrested 'The Hazing Bunch' ? They aren't as charming as the Brady's though.

From the Albany PD press release:

The following residents from 470 Hudson Avenue were charged with Hazing 2nd, Criminal Nuisance 2nd, and Unlawful Assembly:

·         John Storte, 19

·         Nicholas Salamone, 20

·         Joseph Lane, 20

·         Anthony Morello, 20

Three others were charged with Hazing 2nd and Unlawful Assembly:

·         Vincent Serrecchia, 20, of 487 Hudson Avenue

·         Joseph Sheehan, 21, of 489 Hudson Avenue

·         Anthony Warme, 20, of Bronx, New York

Philip Terra, 21, of 466 Hudson Avenue, who was not present during the initial incident,  pushed an officer at the back door in an attempt to get inside the house. He was charged with Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd and Resisting Arrest.

One of the  individuals, Frank Calandra, 18, of 1400 Washington Avenue, was in possession of narcotic pills. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.

Adding more fun to the night was the fact that the Albany Fire Department showed up and found over a dozen code violations.  Sounds like a fun house to hang out at.

So, how was your Friday?
