No Hail Mary To Save The Albany Empire And Arena Football League

Sorry Empire fans the last ditch Hail Mary pass fell to the ground and it's "game over".

The Arena Football League announced officially that the league was filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and shutting down all operations for good.

It's sad. Here's a very successful local team that just won the championship. Fans were really excited about the teams success. It really felt like a solid local sports team that we could all get behind and support. Then WHAM! The league shuts down.

The most frustrating thing of it all was that The Albany Empire seemed to do everything right. They were winning, drawing crowds, building a fan base and winning championships. It was the league that was a bust.

Thanks for the memories....the Empire won't rise again.
