Take a look at this priceless video of the late actor and comedian Paul Reubens talking about time he spent with his family in Lake George, the Adirondacks and Old Forge, New York.
Paul Reubens, best known for his role as Pee-wee Herman, passed away on Monday July 31, 2023 at the age of 70. Much was known about the life and times of Mr. Reubens but did you realize that he grew up in Upstate New York?

According to WKTV, Paul Reubens was born in Peekskill, NY before he and his family moved to Oneonta in 1954. Reubens lived in a small home, at 4 Richmond Avenue, until the future Pee Wee was about 8 years-old. This is what his childhood home looked like in 2023.
Thank you to Gaslight Village Tribute Page for sharing this video of Paul Reubens reminiscing about days spent at Gaslight Village and how special it was to belong to the Adirondack League Club. Watch the video below.
Paul Reubens is not the only one to realize what a gift places like Gaslight Village are to the community. Charles R. Wood is the man that is responsible for the creation of Gaslight Village and Storytown U.S.A. July 12, 2025 marks the first anniversary of Charles R. Wood Day at the former Gaslight Village location.
This is a time to honor the man who created a place for so many families to spend quality time together and make lasting memories. - Layla Zito, founder of Charles R. Wood Day
