Radiohead Will Reportedly Release Their New Album in June
Update 4/15: Radiohead released a statement saying the source of the rumored release date is not actually the band's manager and does not speak for the group.
"At an industry event in London last night Brian Message was asked about new Radiohead music. Quotes attributed to him and taken from his talk have subsequently appeared, describing him as Radiohead's manager. Brian Message is not Radiohead's manager - he is a partner in Courtyard Management but plays no operational role, and therefore any quotes from last night's event, or any supposition arising from them, should not be attributed to Radiohead's management or be seen as official quotes on behalf of the group."
Radiohead will reportedly drop their long-awaited ninth album in June.
During an event at the Wanstead Pub in London, the band’s manager, Brian Message, revealed the approximate release date for Radiohead’s The King of Limbs follow-up. He also noted that it’s “like nothing you’ve ever heard.”
There has been a host of speculation regarding Radiohead's forthcoming album. Just recently, podcast host and comedian Stefanie Wilder-Taylor said the band filmed a music video with Paul Thomas Anderson in her Los Angeles neighborhood. They also uploaded new photos to their Facebook page that many believe may be the album's artwork. And finally, in January, Radiohead established a new company to possibly distribute the album. Thom Yorke and his bandmates opened similar ventures in the months before releasing their last two albums.
We do know for certain, however, Radiohead will play two-night residencies at New York's Madison Square Garden and L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium this summer. Unfortunately, those concerts sold out minutes after ticket sales opened. The band is also slated to play this year's Outside Lands and Lollapalooza -- among other festival dates.
