NFL Hall of Famer and owner of the Oakland Raiders, Al Davis, has died today at the age of 82 according to raiders.com.

Davis is best known for his long  tenure as owner of the NFL's Oakland Raiders.  Under his ownership, the Raiders won three Super Bowls in 1976, 80 and 83.  Running the team since his days with the AFL where he was once Commissioner, Davis' Raiders won 13 division titles and had 15 playoff appearances to go with those three Super Bowl wins, all between 1969-1985.  Even though the team has struggled in recent years, their appearance in the 2002 Super Bowl has seen the Raiders become one of only two teams to appear in the Conference title game in every decade since the team's inception.   Even if you're not a Raiders fan, you have to respect greatness.
