April Showers On The Way For Upstate New York

Weather is always a fun subject to stress over. This coming week we are looking at a very wet start to the month of April. Pretty normal for the start to spring, right? Maybe. It will really depend on how much rain we end up getting. Right now it looks like we can expect to see some rain for the next six days at least.

Spring always comes with a fair amount of rain as we start to see things grow back and get greener, but this seems like a lot of rain that will last all the way through Easter Sunday.

We're set to get so much rain that a flood watch is in affect for portions of the Capital Region into Central New York.

If you're in that area and your home is prone to flooding you may want to keep an eye on things and get your pumps ready. No one loves a a wet basement. As someone who has that happen during long periods of rain I feel your pain.

How much rain can we generally expect in the month of April? According to Current Results the Albany area usually gets about 3 inches of rain for the month. While that doesn't sound like much if it were snow we would have abut 30 inches. There are some things we should just be thankful for.

Yes, spring is here, and as with all the seasons it comes with the ups and downs. Hopefully those showers don't last the entire month, but given how winter went I wouldn't be surprised if the weather just decided to go wonky on us.
