This Albany Tavern Has The Best Wings in the Capital Region
Forget what any other NY region tells you, the Capital Region is home to the best chicken wings in the State.
I know that by saying that I am going to ruffle the feathers of people in Buffalo, NY as well as people in the Capital Region who might be unwilling to admit that they just haven't had the greatest wings in New York and maybe the world. I am of course talking about Ralph's Tavern on Central Avenue in Albany. We have many other spots where you can get wings but none of them, in my opinion, are as good as what they are serving up at Ralph's.
Located at 1328 Central Avenue they have been doing this for over 75 years and clearly know the playbook for making the folks in the Capital Region happy.
Why are they the best?
I am sure everyone's opinion on what they find to be "the best" is subjective, but I don't think that is the case when it comes to Ralph's. We've all had good chicken wings. We've all had bad ones. When you go to Ralph's those wings can only be described as the greatest.

What makes them so great is not just the wing it self. It's crispy and juicy with just the right amount of wing sauce, but the service you get from them also makes them a top notch place. This is a spot in Albany that you must make a reservation for if you want to eat there on a Friday or Saturday. It is always busy and I don't think that will ever change.
My family and I have made Ralph's a location that we frequent at least once a month. I've never ordered anything off their menu that isn't fantastic. If you manage to save room for dessert they've got some of the best Spumoni and Tiramisu that I've ever tasted.
