Reid Kisselback Announces Departure From WNYT
After years of bringing us the weather at all times of day at News Channel 13, Reid Kisselback announced today, February 3, 2026, that he would be leaving his role as meteorologist at the television station in the Capital Region as of Friday February 6th.
He made that announcement during the noon broadcast today along side of his afternoon anchor Caitlin Irla.

You can watch Reid make the emotional announcement to viewers below, where he was having trouble keeping it together but did so very well.
In his post of Facebook Reid wrote,
This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to share. At the end of this week, I’ll be saying goodbye to the Capital Region— a place that is so much more than where I worked. It’s been my home and dream.
I am sad to see Reid go as he's been a great friend and colleague of mine in the broadcast world. He was one of my first guests when I began hosting the midday shift on Q105.7 and has been a frequent voice of reason when I had pressing weather questions. If I needed something, all I needed to do was send Reid a text and he was always (fairly) quick to answer. If Reid is reading this, he knows that joke.
Reid, I hope wherever you go there is a place like Hot Dog Charlie's so that you can remain true to your Capital Region roots. I'll miss our weather chats, but wish you and your growing family the best of luck.
