Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes–First Look [VIDEO]

One of the most well known movie franchises is getting a prequel that's due out this summer.  This is a first look at the brand new trailer for Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

When I first heard they were going to be doing another Planet of the Apes movie I didn't really know what to think or what direction they were going to go in it.  The reboot we saw in 2001 with Mark Wahlberg was met with mixed feelings from fans and critics, so I was sure the series was done. Director Rupert Wyatt has decided to go all the way back to the beginning.

James Franco stars in the film as a scientist working on a new cure for Alzheimer's.  How does he test his medicine?  On apes of course.  The new meds increases their brain function and eventually they start to take over the lab.  The trailer most definitely makes this movie worth seeing and it will hit theaters this August.

Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings) plays Caesar, the main ape who starts to develop quickly.  This will be an interesting role for him and apparently he plays a couple different apes in the movie sicne he such a great character actor.  They have never really explained how The Planet of the Apes all began so this will be really cool.  They have always given us a little bit of info, but this new prequel is a fresh take on the beginnings of the series.  Check out this sit down chat with Andy Serkis and Joe Letteri for their take on The Rise of the Planet of The Apes.
