There has been a lot of reminiscing on the last show we saw in 2020. It may be time to turn our attention to the first show we will see in 2021. Patch.com reports that Governor  Cuomo and his budget Director Rob Mujica announced that arts, entertainment and event venues can reopen at 33 percent capacity starting April 2.

With that in mind, tickets are on sale now for the Allman Betts Band at The Egg, scheduled for Monday June 14th! This show was originally scheduled for July 3, 2020 and then October 24, 2020 and now June 14th. With the roll-out of vaccines and the easing of restrictions this date is good to go. Tickets range from $34.50 to $49.50 and a few are available HERE.

The Allman Betts Bands are fronted by Devon Allman (son of Gregg Allman) and Duane Betts (son of Dickey Betts) and also features Berry Oakley, Jr. (son of the original Allman Brothers Band bassist). Their new album is called "Bless Your Heart" and is available now.

“I hope what people hear on Bless Your Heart is a band that’s having a love affair with being a band.” - Devon Allman

I was lucky enough to see them almost exactly 2 years ago and was really impressed with their own songs as well as their tribute to their dads music. These guys can hold their own but I found it to be very respectful to feature some of the Allman Brothers and others in their set. Here are some of the songs they covered the night I saw them.

  • Blue Sky - Allman Brothers Band
  • Multi-Colored Lady - Gregg Allman
  • Friend of the Devil - The Grateful Dead
  • In Memory of Elizabeth Reed - Allman Brothers Band
  • Dreams - Allman Brothers Band
  • Shakedown Street - The Grateful Dead

Ally Venable Band opens the show for the Allman Betts Band at The Egg. Hope to see you at the show. Maybe our first of 2021.
