Say what you will about burgers and chicken, but they are popular. It looks like another place that calls them their specialty is going to be opening up on Western Avenue in Albany right near the SUNY campus. It's called Savvy Burgers and will be in the former CoreLife Eatery located at 1229 Western Ave. I didn't even realize CoreLife had closed this location until I was driving buy and saw the new signage on the side of the building.

That particular area of Western Ave is full of great places to eat already with Dave's Hot Chicken and Jersey Mike's being right across the street. You also have City Line, DC's Pizza and more all in that area. People living there have many options to choose from.

What is Savvy Sliders?

It's a burger and chicken place that was founded in Michigan back in 2018. They specialize in giant sliders, hand breaded chicken tenders, and handspun milk shakes. According to Restaurant Business, is a fast growing chain with new locations popping up all around the country.

Right now Savvy Sliders has locations is mostly Michigan and Ohio. They have other locations in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, and Indiana. They are expanding and have numerous other locations opening soon. The Albany store is not currently on this list despite the signage being up.

In a world where we see stories about restaurants and chains closing almost daily it is nice to see something new coming into the Capital Region. While we've all been asking for things like In N' Out, Cane's Chicken, and Del Taco, this place is new and refreshing. The food looks top notch, and it perfect for that busy area of Albany on Western Ave. I welcome them with open arms and wish them the best of luck when they finally do open.
