Schenectady to Offer Free Trolley Service
The new casino in Schenectady is bringing in all kinds of perks for the people of the Capital Region.
Looks like the New Rivers Resort and Casino in Schenectady is going to be doing a lot to connect the community to the casino. Not only will they be offering Schenectady a brand new $330 million facility that includes 1,150 slots, 67 gaming tables and a 15-table poker room. As well as an entertainment lounge, a banquet hall, plenty of restaurants and even a spa. But they have partnered up with CDTA to connect visitors from the casino to downtown Schenectady FREE of charge starting in late March.
CDTA just approved the purchase of two trolley buses similar to the ones currently used in Saratoga to transport the general public between the casino, Downtown Schenectady and the train station for FREE. They are dubbing the trolleys "the Downtowner".
According to the Daily Gazette:
Delivery is expected in late spring, but service will probably start before then, using the two Saratoga trolleys, which won't be needed for summer service there until early July.
Are you excited to not have to walk along Erie Boulevard to visit the casino and downtown Schenectady?
