In recent years winter has kind of been bi-polar for us here in the Capital Region, how miserable are our winters though compared to the rest of the country?

Thrillist put together a list ranking each of the 50 states and how bad their winters are. Now obviously we don't have the worst winters in comparison to some states like Alaska. Actually shocked to see that Alaska wasn't number one on this list. Minnesota was, dont'cha know? On the opposite side we don't necessarily have the luck nor sunshine in the winter months of Hawaii, they ranked number 50. Shocker right?

New York however came in at number 20 which personally shocks me. Buffalo year in and year out gets slammed. If NYC gets hit by a storm, its the end of the world and usually we get a few foot or more storms a season (Thankfully not yet). How do we only come in at 20? Is it because we have bi-polar weather? I'm going to stop complaining before a blizzard comes knocking at the areas door. Full list below.
