We all love new music, especially when it comes from our favorite bands and more especially when it's been awhile since their latest work; Serj Tankian and Smile Empty Soul both released videos for their new songs today and they can be seen after the jump.

A few weeks ago I blogged about Tankian's newest, third solo album (Harakiri) details and posted the lyric video for its first single, "Figure It Out." Today, the official music video is ready and available for public viewing:

According to the article,

It's a comical political song talking about abusive capitalism and the differences created in economic stature and the reaction to it. CEOs have gotten away with murder, until now.

Also making a song debut today is California trio Smile Empty Soul, who have released the official music video for their single "Afterlife," which comes from their sixth studio album 3's, which released just two days ago.

The article states:

We released a record in 2009 called Consciousness and toured the second half of that year, and all through 2010. We came home right before Christmas of 2010 and we were just very discouraged with the way the music business was going. So we took a break and regrouped, said vocalist/guitarist Sean Danielsen of their new album.

What do you think of the videos?
