Someone Converted This Old Catskill Barn Into an Awesome House
I love finding hidden gems like this in and around the Capital Region. Someone took what was just an old barn - and by old I mean over 200 years old - and renovated it into an amazing looking, modern house.
I was browsing around on Circa, and found this house for sale not too far away down in Catskill. The barn was originally built in 1796 and is set on a few acres of land that border the massive Audubon sanctuary. If you're the kind of person who wants to live a secluded, peaceful life, it probably doesn't get much better than this. Just take a look at the view!
By the looks of it, the inside has been completely and totally renovated. You see a lot of these kinds of renovations on TV shows, but this is one in our own backyard. It looks like it must have taken a ton of work to get the house looking like this.
Are you the kind of person who would like to live in a setting like this? I prefer to be a little closer to more people, but I know there are are a lot of people - maybe most people - who would disagree with me on that one. The listing agent is Paul Barrett of Hunt Real Estate.
