Stephen King is one of the most well known authors in the horror/thriller genre, but I bet you didn't know that he is also a bit of a headbanger.

One of the most prolific horror writers of our time is Stephen King.  Not just monster stories either, but suspense thrillers like Misery and The Shining.  I think it's safe to say that no one can make the hair on the back of our neck stand up like him.

He has a new short story coming up in an issue of The Atlantic called "Herman Wouk is Still Alive" and the magazine sat down with him to find out about how he writes.  King said that while writing he likes to turn on bands like Metallica and Anthrax.  He likes the heavy stuff while he is feeding his creative process.  He also says that he doesn't really care for Ozzy or Black Sabbath.  That is a bit surprising, especially since Sabbath has some of the most evil sounding music in the entire world.
