The moment Supergirl was announced to cast a young Kal-El, we knew some explanation was required. All was soon revealed that Alan Moore’s iconic “For the Man Who Has Everything” story would spawn an upcoming Supergirl of the same premise, sending Kara back to a normal life on Krypton, as seen in the first official photos.

CBS released the first official photos from Supergirl’s thirteenth episode “For the Girl Who Has Everything,” inspired by the 1985 Alan Moore-Jack Gibbons story that saw Superman comatose by a “Black Mercy” creature that afflicts him with visions of a peaceful life on Krypton, in order to keep him under. Our first photos seem largely to follow the premise (swapping in a Kryptonian for DC’s Mongul in the story), as Jimmy, Alex, Hank, and even Maxwell Lord race to save her.

No sign of young Kal-El (Daniel DiMaggio) just yet, but so reads the official synopsis of “For the Girl Who Has Everything”:

A PARASITIC ALIEN TRAPS KARA IN A DREAM WORLD WHERE HER HOME PLANET WAS NEVER DESTROYED, ON “SUPERGIRL,” MONDAY, FEB. 8

Kara’s friends must find a way to save her life when a parasitic alien attaches itself to her and traps her in a dream world where her family is alive and her home planet was never destroyed. Also, Alex, Hank and the DEO must fend off a Kryptonian attack while Kara is out of commission.

In the meantime, you can check out Kara’s first bout with a Bizarro Supergirl below, stay tuned for the latest on more DC arrivals, and see CBS’ take on Alan Moore’s classic Superman tale above.
