In January, we found out that a popular store in Stuyvesant plaza for over thirty years, Drummer's Kitchen, was moving from Stuyvesant Plaza to Crossgates mall after its lease wasn't renewed. Another store which also had a thirty-plus year tenure in Stuyvesant Plaza announced it is moving too.
If you grew up in the Capital Region, chances are you visited Hoffman's Playland in Loudonville as a kid. When it closed back in 2014, it left a void for a lot of kids and adults in the area. Even though it relocated to Huck Finn's in Albany, the land where it once stood was abandoned. Now it looks like something may finally occupy that space.
More houses will be going up in the Colonie/Loudonville area. Another farm has been sold to accommodate the forty-lot subdivision off of Albany Shaker Road. The developer says they will pay homage to the area by naming it after its historic roots.
These two popular businesses are only 2.8 miles apart and are actually on the same road in Latham and into Loudonville. Both are very reputable and now they will be merging under the same management to offer more services.
