Retail workers rejoice! Last year, amidst the growing retail madness in recent years, some more stores were actually closing for the Thanksgiving holiday this year.  This year, the number has gone up from 70 stores to about 100! I caught site of a post by News 10 abc about a number of retailers announcing that they will in fact be closed on Thanksgiving this year ...

Another one bites the dust! Another department store around the Capital Region is closing. The Capital Region has already seen a number of department stores close this past year, from Toys R Us to the Colonie Center Sears.  Now, according to News Channel 13, 33 Sears stores and 13 Kmart stores are being closed nationwide...

Oh man! Just think of all the shows you could see!!

It's official! Wegmans has everything.  The store, known (at least to myself and everyone I know) as the grocery store that has just about everything, is now going even further.  A Natick, Massachusetts Wegmans Super-Store was unveiled at the Natick Mall, and according to The Buffalo News, the Wegmans is not only two-stories but also will include a restaurant and tequila bar...

Say goodbye to yet another department store in the Capital Region.  According to News Channel 13, The Bon-Ton Stores are not just shutting a few stores, but going out of business completely.  A liquidation firm won a bid for the company at auction, and the 160-year old business is coming to an end...

Looks like the long awaited Van Rensselaer Square in North Greenbush is getting a new addition in the near future.

Thanksgiving is creeping closer and closer, which means of course that Black Friday and shopping madness are ALSO creeping closer and closer.  Some areas of New York (including my home town) have already had the first snowfall of the season, and a whole lot of stores already have seasonal displays up in full force...

How is it even possible that the people of Vermont have been without the apparent luxury and convenience of a Target?
