With the World Cup in full swing (U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!), we thought it was a good time to check in with the USWNT's superstar / bikini model Alex Morgan.
England took on Italy in the first round of the World Cup over the weekend.
As time was winding down Saturday in Manaus, Brazil, England found itself down 2-1. After a free kick by Italy deflected off the crossbar and out of bounds, England's goalie, Joe Hart, was pretty anxious for his goal kick. Like really really anxious.
John Brooks scored on a header in the 86th minute, and the United States beat Ghana, 2-1, in the teams' first game of 2014 FIFA World Cup play at Natal, Brazil on Monday.
It's World Cup time in Brazil and everyone is invited! That is, of course if you don’t mind being stuck in a traffic jam almost as long as the distance from Albany to Philadelphia.
Scoring on seven of eight tries for a soccer goal with only a robotic goalie that can sway side to side to block the ball should be easy, right?
All you need to do is kick the ball anywhere but the center of the goal.
However, on this crazy Japanese game show, this player, Argentina great Lionel Messi, shows that it is much more difficult than it seems.
The police are supposed to serve and protect. Not trip and push. Yet that's exactly what seems to have happened in Austin, Texas at the end of a high school soccer game last weekend.
After a pretty brutal collision with the opposing team's goalkeeper, this soccer player was knocked out and supposedly swallowed his own tongue.
That's something that we didn't think was possible, but apparently that's just what happened.
Somehow, a player on the opposing team noticed it immediately and sprung into action.
Soccer, depending upon the person it can been seen as an enjoyable sport or a complete waste of time and energy. To be honest, I don't mind a soccer match here and there.
That is unless of course the matches were contested like this and with very sexy ladies.
I'm thinking that this lovely Friday needs a huge smile attached to it. An "it feels good to be Friday" smile. Oh, and I'm not talking about the kind of smile motivated by the thought of a booze-filled weekend. I'm talking "holy crap people are awesome" as they cheer on this little kid. Yeah, that kind of smile.
