Blockbuster tour alert! Well, if all those rumors about Motley Crue breaking up after their Las Vegas residency were getting you down, here’s a new rumor to cheer you up! The rock site BraveWords has it on good authority that Motley Crue and KISS are gearing up to join forces for a mega fall 2012 tour run.

Old-school rockers Van Halen have just released a two-minute video announcing that they will be embarking on a tour in 2012, with tickets going on sale January 10. The video was shot on November 14 at the Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood, California, and can be viewed after the jump.

Old-school theatrical rockers GWAR were scheduled to kick off 2012 with a European tour, but sadly, the band have decided to cancel, which means more bad news for their fans following the November death of their guitarist Cory Smoot, or Flattus Maximus. The reason for the cancellation, however, supposedly has nothing to do with the passing of their beloved member.

It wasnt that long ago that Seether performed at Northern Lights in 2011.   That show in May was one of approximately 150 shows to support their new album 'Holding Onto Strings Better Left To Fray'.  Seether frontman Shaun Morgan said next year the band hopes to play over 300 shows.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers recently announced six dates with the promise of more.  They have made good on their promise and have announced ten more dates in January, February and March of 2012.   Most of the dates are in arena sized venues, so be ready for a big North American tour!

It was just three days ago that Connecticut metal band Hatebreed made a stop in the capital district and put on a brutal holiday show complete with Christmas lights and decorations. Now, there's a new radio interview with the band's front man Jamey Jasta. Check it out after the jump!

Last night, my biggest and oldest idol, Alice Cooper put on a classic, vintage show at The Palace Theatre in Albany. It was my fifth time getting to see the legend, and every time is like the first- he always reels me in and amazes me with his talent and entertaining show without fail.

Next Tuesday, Illinois rock trio Chevelle will be releasing their sixth studio album, Hats Off To The Bull, and to mark this major accomplishment in their musical career, they will be embarking on a short tour starting tonight that will bring them into the middle of December. Bands Bush and Filter will be joining them for support.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers announced a tease for its upcoming North American Tour by releasing 6 dates.  Five in January and one in February. The tour is in support of their new album 'I'm With You' and is the first tour of the United States since 2007.

We’re still a long ways away from a full-scale Guns N’ Roses reunion, since Slash would still rather stomp on the olive branch than hand it to frontman Axl Rose, but some factions of the Guns camp are making nice. Rose will be sharing stages in the near future with former Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, revealed Rose in his interview with ‘That Metal Show’ set to air Nov. 11.

The dates for the 2012 Rockstar Mayhem Festival have been announced, however the bands that are playing won't be announced until January.   We do know one thing July 31st, the festival that is known as the successor to Ozzfest will be in Saratoga.
