This is the Marum Crater on Ambrym Island in the Republic of Vanuatu in the South Pacific Ocean. This volcano is very active, very dangerous and, reportedly, no one has ever been this close to the business end of the volcano. But explorers Sam Cossman and George Kourounis wanted to change all of that.

So what exactly the difference between a volcano, and a super-volcano? One cause disaster, one can cause extinction.
