Seattle supergroup Temple of the Dog will mount their first-ever tour in support of the 25th anniversary of their self-titled debut (and only) album, which is also getting the deluxe re-issue treatment.

The group, which teams up Soundgarden's Chris Cornell with Pearl Jam's Stone Gossard, Jett Ament, Mike McCready and Matt Cameron (who also drums for Soundgarden), will play shows in Philadelphia, New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle this November. Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder, who contributed vocals to the 1991 album, is not announced as a participant on these dates.

A special ticket pre-sale for fans signed up to the Ten Club, Soundgarden, and Chris Cornell email lists begins immediately and runs through July 27. Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 12:00 PM local time on Friday, July 29.

The Sept. 30 reissue of Temple of the Dog will come in a variety of formats, including single CD, double vinyl, two CD Deluxe and a four-disc Super Deluxe Edition.  Drummer Matt Cameron divulged details of the reissue project during a recent interview with Radio.com, looking back on the "contentious court battle" over possession of the album's master tapes.

If he had his way, whatever the one-off supergroup has left in the vault would stay there — but he knows he's probably on the losing end of that battle. "I do not enjoy the current philosophy, where it’s sort of expected that you release all of your outtakes and rehearsals and demos, I really don’t like that aspect of it at all," he admitted. "But the fans really like it."

Although he knows there can be "really cool outtakes and things" included on reissues — and he hinted at some of those being included on an upcoming reissue of Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger LP — he'd still rather stick with the finished product. "I personally, as a songwriter and as a performer, don’t really want people to hear that," he laughed. "But I guess as a fan, it’s cool to hear the inner workings of how a record gets made."

Cameron still thinks the original Temple of the Dog record holds up. "The music is emotionally jam-packed. The lyrics, the music, the performance, it really captured the mood, and the sentiment really well," he continued. "It was just a one-off record. That record’s always had more gravitas than other side projects like Hater or Wellwater Conspiracy. It was very specifically themed."
