As I established earlier this week, as a newcomer to the Capital Region, I was a few years behind on the history of sports in this area.

As a hockey played who travelled to play at Frear Park as a youngster, and battled the CP Dynamo as a teenager, I knew a bit about the area, but not nearly enough to talk into a microphone about it for 20 hours a week.

I began to do my homework on a few of the pillars: the Albany River Rats, the Albany-Colonie Yankees, the *insert name here* Arena and elements of that nature. However, as I continued to research, and continued to meet the incredible sports fans at different bars and restaurants, I began to learn more and more.

I now consider myself a Capital Region sports fan. I learned these ten stories along the way, and want you to learn them now.
