I can't believe this. After winning the 2019 AFL Championship the Albany Empire could potentially be no more. Actually, the league itself could be no more.

The six teams could potentially be dissolved as the league is officially shuttered for the time being, according to the Times Union. Coaches and players were informed Tuesday afternoon.

According to an article in The Times Union if the league can find a way to open moving forward it might be structured similar to the Premier Lacrosse League where the p[layers and coaches are all centralized, but fly to different cities to play games.

I'm sure the players, coaches and league officers are a bit stunned by this announcement and will explore every option to reopen the league in the future.

So what happened? The current league inherited a multi-million dollar lawsuit filed against them by an insurance carrier and that has caused the turmoil in the league.
