‘The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron’ Will Likely Leave Out Gwyneth Paltrow
'The Avengers 2,' titled 'Age of Ultron,' will see Marvel's superhero gang do battle against (as the title suggests) the comic-book villain Ultron, but one character of the Marvel Cinematic Universe who will likely sit this one out is Iron Man's squeeze, Pepper Potts.
Although she didn't play much of a part in the first 'Avengers' film, Gwyneth Paltrow did show her face in the beginning alongside her on-screen hubby and briefly at the very end. Though, the actress told HitFix she hasn't heard anything about reprising Ms. Potts.
I don't think so, nobody has asked me- What is it called? 'Age of Ultron,' okay. Well, no, I don't think so. I haven't heard any...my phone has not rung for 'Avengers 2.'
This is likely for the best, since director Joss Whedon, who's also working on the script, has to fit in not only the 'Avengers' alum -- Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Black Widow and Hawkeye -- but also two newcomer heroes, Scarlet Witch (potentially Elizabeth Olsen) and her brother Quicksilver (rumored as Aaron Taylor-Johnson), and, of course, Ultron himself, James Spader.
But what about her interest in a potential spinoff movie centered around Rescue, a suited-up Pepper Potts, especially considering her character's transformation in 'Iron Man 3'? "That would be good ... That would be fun."
'The Avengers: Age of Ultron' is set to hit theaters May 1, 2015.
