Kate Pierson, from the B-52s, owns a motel in Shandaken, New York....huh, who knew?

Yes, it has a tin roof and no it's not rusted. I'm sure Kate Pierson from the B-52s has heard that a million times in reference to the really cool, mid-century modern motel that she owns in the Catskills.

Kate Pierson and her wife, artist Monica Coleman, bought the motel back in 2004. They went to look at it on a whim after seeing it for sale while they were driving around in the Catskills. According to The Real Deal, it was the date the motel was built that sealed the deal. The motel was built in 1952....get it "52"....as in the B-52s. Believe me, I've bought stuff with a much flimsier reason, so we shouldn't judge.

What they did with the motel after buying it is an explosion of mid-century modern color and style that totally matches the B-52s vibe. Currently, Kate's Lazy Meadows is on the market for $2.2 million. You can check out the Zillow listing for all the details.
