For most couples, romantic Valentine's Day plans include flowers, chocolate, and a fancy dinner at a nice restaurant. For others, it includes a walking tour of, as one friend calls it "the poop factory" in New York.

Yes, I'm talking about the now kinda-famous Valentine's Day walking tour of Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant in Brooklyn. This weird and very popular Valentine's Day tour has been going on since 2012 and thousands of happy couples have taken the tour.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year's tour will be a virtual tour online and it will cost $5 and will take place from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Zoom. You'll get to see how New York's largest treatment plant deals with everything from storm drain water to the stinky stuff from millions of New Yorkers. The real highlight of the tour is the eight giant stainless steel digester eggs. They are really beautiful especially when they are lit up at night. I never thought I'd be saying that about a sewage treatment plant.

Although it kinda sucks that this year won't be an in-person tour, it's kind of nice being online since it doesn't limit the number of people that can attend the tour.
