Tig’s Metal Box: Anvil Rocks Saratoga [Concert Review]
The Metal Box is a weekly web series posted each Friday where we discuss all things hard rock and heavy metal: news, videos, interviews, live concerts and more.
This week, we have a review of a recent Anvil concert. The 80’s metal rockers Anvil made a stop on their 40th anniversary tour at the Putnam Den in Saratoga Springs, NY. Watch video above.
Toronto, Canada’s Anvil features Steve “Lips” Kudlow on vocals and guitar, Rob Reiner on drums, and bassist Chris Robertson. The band has released sixteen studio albums over the course of their career and they’ve been cited as an influence to bands like Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, and Metallica. Anvil received critical acclaim in 2008 for their documentary film, Anvil! The Story of Anvil. The film helped renew interest in the band, and it earned them a spot opening for AC/DC on several dates of their Black Ice Tour.
