The Metal Box is a weekly web series posted each Friday where we discuss all things hard rock and heavy metal: news, videos, interviews, live concerts and more.

This week, we are talking about the 30th anniversary of one of the biggest rock albums of all time. Guns N' Roses Appetite for Destruction was released on July 21, 1987 and I'll never forget the time I first heard it and instantly fell in love with the band. Watch full video above.

One of my favorite bands of all time, Guns N’ Roses formed in 1985 and the band had great success in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Their first album Appetite for Destruction is the best-selling debut album in U.S. with sales of 18 million. The album has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. As a die hard Guns fan, seeing Guns N’ Roses over the summer at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ was something I will never forget. Catch the band on tour this year including three nights at Madison Square Garden Oct. 11, 15, and 16. Check out the official Guns N' Roses website here for info including full tour dates.
