Tool has unveiled a promo video for their upcoming music clinics. The three-plus minute clip features the new song “Descending,” which the band debuted on their last tour. Watch the clip in the player above.

The version of the short instrumental could be a live take as crowd noise is heard at the intro. “Descending” begins slowly with a hypnotic counterpoint guitar and bass riff in a 7/8 time signature. It builds slowly, until reaching a furious peak with heavy chords crashing down in an off-time rhythm until it abruptly ends.

The video also shares info about Tool’s music clinics. It describes the event as an “The Ultimate VIP Experience” where fans will “discover an immersive dissection of the band Tool.” The evening with Danny CareyJustin Chancellor and Adam Jones will feature performances, a Q&A session, meet and greet and photo opportunities with the band.

Fans will also get to see rare Tool memorabilia on display and will walk away with exclusive event items, VIP collectible merchandise and an autographed commemorative ticket. Each clinic will be limited to just a few hundred guests.

In addition to the six already released dates, the band will also hold clinics in Pittsburgh on May 21 and Philadelphia on May 23. Tickets cost $500 each and are on sale now here.

As we previously reported, Tool has been in the studio working on the follow-up to 2006’s 10,000 Days. Guitarist Adam Jones confirmed the band was in the studio last month posting an Instagram clip with the caption “Day 1,” alongside an emoji of a CD.
