New York Not On The List For Trump’s $500 Refund Checks
President Trump announced today that millions of Americans would be getting a $500 check from him. This is all tied to if they use the Affordable Care Act for their health insurance. According to CNBC, President Trump says that they will be getting refunds because they've been overcharged by the Biden administration. However not every state is eligible to receive this money. CNBC reports that 20 states are on that list are ineligible.
New York not an eligible state
The reason why New York, along with 19 other states, is not eligible to receive these refunds is because we use our own system, or state-run marketplace, to enroll residents in health insurance plans. You have probably heard it referred to as New York State of Health. Even if you are using the ACA in New York, you won't be getting a $500 refund check.
