Here are 10 things only a Capital Region resident would understand. If you don't know all 10 you must not be from around these parts.
Each part of the United States has their localisms, customs and characteristics. Florida, for example, has terms such as "pub sub", which is a sandwich found at Publix. We have as much of a chance at finding a Publix in New York as a Floridian would have finding a Hannaford.

New York State is a magical place steeped in history, culture, inventions and natural beauty. People travel from all over the world to visit the Empire State and each region offers something different than the rest. Scroll down to see 10 things only Capital Region residents understand.

Some of the differences, from region to region, can include language, weather, and even culinary delights. In Buffalo it is very popular to order a beef on weck for lunch while someone from the Hudson Valley, for example, might have no idea what that is. Let's not even get into garbage plates.
As for the Capital Region of New York, we are not the city but Albany is the State Capital. We don't have the mountains of the Adirondacks but we do have Lake George, the gateway to the Adirondacks.
When it comes right down to it, New York's Capital Region is a unique part of the state where folks from north of the twin bridges don't want to travel south of the twin bridges and vice versa. Again, if you don't know what the Twin Bridges are, you aren't from around here, are ya?
