Stephen King has been responsible for some truly terrifying stories, many that have been adapted to film and television. Spencer Sherry talked with us about his involvement in developing "The Monkey."

Being a filmmaker is not something that all of us could venture to do. It's a lot of blood sweat and tears and hope. Hope that what you put out there will be loved an enjoyed for those you intended to. That's exactly what Spencer Sherry has found with his version of "The Monkey."

This classic 1980 short story by Stephen King may be about a toy, but is certainly no child's play. This story is full of terror, and that's exactly what Spencer was able to capture when he released his version of the movie back in 2023. Since then it has grown even more popular thanks to the big budget release of the movie with the same name, just with horror icon James Wan attached to it.

So what do you do when Hollywood recreates something you've already done your own version of? You show a double feature of yours and the new version for all to enjoy. That's exactly what Spencer Sherry has planned for March 1, 2024 at Scene One in Wilton Mall.

Sherry was the first to adapt this short story, but he knew that a big Hollywood studio may do a version of their own at some point. So he's welcoming their version and inviting all to his double feature.
