Vermont Changes Name of Columbus Day

I am pretty certain somebody may be really upset about this. It may even be you!

I can definitely understand if this does upset you. I mean, it has been Columbus Day your entire life. Nobody has ever batted an eye or had a thought as to it actually being called Columbus Day. But Vermont has thought about it, they have deemed it necessary to change the name to Indigenous Peoples' Day.

Vermont isn't the first state to do this, and they most likely will not be the last.

Other states have also changed the holidays name as it doesn't provide the proper story of Columbus discovering America for the Europeans. It more importantly doesn't reflect the negatives that was put onto the native people.

So what do you think, should New York be the next to change Columbus Day to Indigenous People's Day?
