Record Store Day 2026 is April 18th and there are a bunch of great exclusives that you can get your hands on. I think first you need to know the places to go get vinyl records in the Capital Region before you can actually go and celebrate this big day.

Habitat ReStore on Fuller Road is a place I've found quite a few hidden gems, but the Goodwill stores in Guilderland and Troy that I frequent also have amazing selections. When it comes to traditional record stores FYE has a pretty large record selection, which surprised me. Newbury Comics inside of Crossgates also has a really big record section. I am always impressed to see how many people are in their looking at the vinyl when I wander by.

Last Vestige is also a great place to get your hands on some records, and many of them are priced decently low, but others can be $20 or more. If you're looking for something specific, Last Vestige is the place to go because of their massive inventory. They also have CD and cassette tapes. A little something for everyone.

Remember to get out there and support your local record store on Record Store Day, and every other day because music is life.
