Watch Blink-182’s Entire Discography Played in a 12-Minute Medley
It'd be an understatement to say that long-running California pop-punk band Blink-182 have a lot of songs. Since their formation in 1992, the band have put out a total of seven full length albums with a smattering of EPs and other collections strung throughout. It's a lot to take in and one band decided to tackle the entire discography and create a medley of every song in just 12 minutes.
Minority 905 released their video today, working through the different songs at a breakneck speed, from Blink's early Buddha EP to last year's California. You'll hear snippets of songs' most notable moments before they transition to the next, bits of "Princess Leia" going straight into "Josie" in the blink of an eye and more.
More than just a passing curiosity though, the video points inadvertently points out how much the band has evolved through their music's 20-plus year existence. You can hear Blink's songwriting expand with Dude Ranch and how they keyed into absolutely killer riffs that would later become iconic for the pop-punk scene. Later on in their career, they would slow down on the punk, releasing moody and emotional songs like "I Miss You" that would see their teen angst evolve into something more nuanced.
It's not the first time we've seen a smaller band take to summing up an entire band's discography in one track. Remember when YouTube sensation Rob Scallon took on every System Of a Down riff in four minutes?
These discography summations are always a good time and with Blink-182 still consistently churning out new tunes, it probably won't be long before Minority 905 has to update their video. For now, check it out above and for those who want to see Blink-182 pull off these songs live, you can check their tour dates below.
