In an effort to raise more awareness about the prevention of domestic violence in New York state, two agencies have come together. You have a say too. It's your chance to vote on which license plate design you like best.

Why The New License Plates?

The Department of Motor Vehicles has teamed up with the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence to recognize thirty years of responding to domestic violence in New York state. They have redesigned the New York state custom license plate to end domestic violence according to the OPDV press release.

What Do The Finalists Look Like?

There are three designs to vote on, each representing solidarity to end domestic violence in New York State. They also reflect New York's dedication to making sure services are survivor-centered, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed. This is both for domestic and sexual assault.

You Can Vote For The Winner

Go to the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence website and vote for your favorite. Click HERE. The winning license plate design will be announced in October to coincide with Domestic Violence Awareness Month. They will be available through the New York State DMV for an annual fee of $25 and will go to support programs through the OPDV.
