The Five Things New York Hates About Fall
Does it make you get giddy with excitement as soon as you hear the words pumpkin spice? The idea of crunching through some leaves on the way to pick apples is probably on your to-do list, too. Not to mention getting ready for Halloween. Fall can be such an exciting time of the year, but not for everyone. Sometimes fall can be the worst depending on your perspective.
We decided to poll the Capital Region and see exactly what they dislike about fall since so many people have declared it the greatest season of them all.

Even though there are many people who love fall there are plenty of people who dread it coming and it's because there are some downsides to the leaves changing and the air getting a bit more crisp.
The five most hated things about fall
1. That winter soon follows

Snow, cold, and being stuck indoors for months on end? Yeah, that's a big negative for fall. Is it the fault of fall that winter is what comes next? No, but they just happen to be guilty by association. If you're lucky enough to live in an area that doesn't experience brutally cold winters, consider yourself lucky.
2. Raking leaves
Find me one person on this planet who enjoys doing this. If they do they're probably mentally ill and need some sort of intervention. The endless amount of leaves that seem to fall this time of year can be a daunting task. If you wait too long to clean then up you'll just have a soggy mess in the spring. It's just simply not fair.
3. Allergies
Those of us who suffer will allergies know that the ones that come in the fall can be just as brutal, if not worse then, the ones that come in the spring. So while you're all out there in your flannel playing in the leaves we're hiding in the corner with a box of tissues and some Zyrtec.
4. Shorter days
Daylight savings is a cruel joke for those of us in Upstate New York. The sun going down before 5pm is the absolute worst and even the biggest fans of fall would agree that this time of the year is awful.
5. Pumpkin spice
I'm sorry to be the one to tell you, but not every single things needs to be pumpkin spice. It started with coffee and it has turned into pumpkin spice toothpaste for goodness sake. When did we become this? I do enjoy a good fall scent, but I draw the line and pumpkin spice cereal. It's just too much.
