Your Phone Is Gross, Sanitize It At Albany Intl. Airport

Quarantine! Wear a mask! Take a test! Get vaccinated! All of these are steps intended to keep us healthy and avoid the coronavirus. Now it's time to protect us from our phones! Albany International Airport has begun testing UV-C Light smartphone sanitizing equipment that you can use while you visit the airport for travel.

Philip Calderone, CEO of the Albany County Airport Authority recently announced that the  The Cleanslate phone sanitizers have been placed in three locations in the terminal.

"The installation of the UV-C Light cell phone sanitizers is one more step in the Airport Authority's goal of maintaining a safe, COVID-free environment for our air travelers and our staff,"

Let's face it your phone has been disgusting since you left the store with it. We spit on them while we talk. We put them down on sinks, restaurant tables and toilets. I know you have placed your phone on a toilet. Think of all the germs that device has collected.

The Saratogian reports, the Albany International Airport has been a leader in the effort to protect travelers and staff during the year-long COVID pandemic. In February of 2020, the Airport Authority created a COVID-19 Task Force to develop and implement proven technology to combat the spread of the virus.

The Cleanslate company indicates that lab tests have shown a 99.999% efficacy in destroying the Human Coronavirus, E.coli, E. faecalis, Salmonella enterica and Staphylococcus aureaus. Each of the Cleanslate sanitizers will be capable of handling multiple phones at the same time. The entire disinfecting process will take only 20-seconds. 

I live 10 minutes from the airport and it takes 20 seconds to disinfect my phone? I'll stop there every morning just to sanitize my phone.
