Many, many years ago the FDA approved caffeine to added to products. This was when soda drinks were being introduced to the market place. With the way more and more products are being released with caffeine infusions, the FDA worries about the health effects on children.

Other countries around the world have restrictions on how old you have to be in order to consume caffeine, much like we in the U.S. do with tobacco and alcohol. Those countries that have claim to see a change in their society.

Nowadays in America, we have caffeine infused drinks, gum, and even oatmeal. The FDA worries that many of these products are being directly marketed to the youth of the nation, like energy drinks are.

What's the next step? The FDA will be doing investigations into the drug (yes, caffeine is a drug) and after that, there could be restrictions on age limits to purchase and consume caffeine.
