Howe Caverns Introduces A No Kids Tour This Summer
Howe Caverns in Schoharie County has been a popular tourist attraction since it was open to the public in 1843. That's 186 years of family visits, school tours and date nights at the cave. Kids really love but now children of a certain age aren't allowed, kinda.
According to a post on the Howe Caverns Facebook page, the attraction will offer a 'No Kids Traditional Tour'. This tour is for ages 13 and up only with no exceptions. But why? What is wrong with pre-teen boys and girls on the tour?

I love my son and when he was little I took him everywhere. We went to baseball games, restaurants, and the beach to name a few. Truth be told, my son was perfect. He didn't "act up', he was quiet and well behaved, riiiigght. That isn't always the case for 'other' children.
With this in mind Howe Caverns introduces the No Kids Traditional Tour, starting Monday June 22nd, and they aren't messing around. If you book a tour and attendees are not age 13 and above you will not be permitted entry and cannot move to another tour and will not be refunded. What has the reaction been?
- There’s restaurants by me that don’t allow children under 13 for reasons like this. - Rob O.
- So we're going back to the 1900s standard where kids should be seen and not heard? Understood. - Shay M.
- As a K-1 teacher about to be on Summer Break thank y'all. I need a break from tiny voices. - Kimberly C.
- Imagine a world where parents actually had some control over their children. - Chris P.
Howe Caverns still has plenty of options for children under 13 and their families. Check HERE for a complete list of tour options.
