People in the City of Albany were awoken in the middle of the night to very loud sounds, but where were they coming from?

As I lay in bed on Friday night (technically early Saturday morning) I was suddenly awoken to a sound that was so loud it penetrated my dreams.

That sound was music blasting and it sounded like some sort of Latin music. I'm not sure what kind, but it was loud enough to fill my entire home in the New Scotland neighborhood of Albany (near St. Peter's hospital) with this sound for at least a half an hour.

As it turns out I wasn't the only one who was hearing this. There was a thread on the NextDoor app. I guess this isn't the first time this has happened either.

I took that above video (if you can't watch it, click here) from my front porch. What you can't hear are the loud engines that were going off before that moment.

I actually ended up calling the Albany Police. I found out later that they had sent out a few officers to investigate the neighborhood because I wasn't the only one who had called about the loud abrupt noise.

If this in fact has been going on for multiple weekends, what are the Albany Police doing about this problem? Is anyone being held accountable for the actions? I realize that it might be hard to track down something like that, but if you know it's an issue maybe send out some folks to monitor?

Hopefully it doesn't happen again, but at least now the city is aware of the problem.

Four Capital Region Counties Crack NY's Top 10 Most Dangerous

Of the ten counties with the highest crime rates in New York, four are located in the Capital Region.

Note: Per WNYT, violent crime rate is calculated by taking the violent crimes submitted by police, dividing it by a county's population and multiplying it by 100,000.
