Albany DA To Hold Public Meetings About Marijuana Legalization
New York seems to hopefully be inching closer and closer to legalizing marijuana. The District Attorney for Albany seeks your thoughts.
If I have said it once I have said it a million times, why marijuana isn't legal nationwide is beyond me. It has many more positives as opposed to negatives. It is a misconstrued drug, using the word drug here loosely. People sit in our prisons for being in possession of a minor amount of weed. Meanwhile, people who are truly criminals walk the streets. Just does not make sense to me.
Albany's DA David Soares has announced five meetings for the public to let him know if changing the marijuana laws is beneficial. I love that someone like him is holding a meeting of this sort. It just shows me that New York is getting closer each and every day to the legalization of marijuana.
Another thing Soares said which I have been saying,
the state is missing out on tapping into an industry that he says could create jobs and tax revenue across the state. - CBS 6
Yeah, most people probably don't want to see marijuana legalized and taxed but man, to create numerous jobs and help people who truly could use marijuana for a medical issue, that is huge.
If you are interested in making your voice heard, the initial meeting will be held at the Albany Public Library this Wednesday at 6 pm.
