Firefighters Battle Fire On Lark Street, Above Popular Donut Shop, In Albany
Albany Fire and Emergency Services battle a building fire on Lark Street!
In the evening hours of Sunday November 2nd, Albany Fire and Emergency Services responded to a report of a building fire at 193 Lark Street. According to Times Union, the fire burned out the upper floors of the building and damaged the donut shop, Bitchin' Donuts, on the ground floor.

The Bitchin' Donuts Instagram page indicates that the fire caused their store to take on water and smoke damage from the fire. No injuries have been reported. Bitchin' Donuts opened in March of 2023. Owners say they aren't done.
Hey friends, we’ve had a rough one. Our shop took on some water and smoke damage from a nearby fire. The good news: everyone’s safe. Please know-- we are movers and shakers. We’ll get through the cleanup and rebuild. This wont be the end. Stay tuned for more. - Bitchin' Donuts
Reports indicate that the fire occurred in a second-floor apartment above the donut shop. The Sheriff of Lark Street Facebook page posted a video (see above) from the scene where you can see firefighters working on the floor just above Bitchin' Donuts at the corner of Spring Street and Lark Street.
In the aftermath of this blaze the folks at Bitchin' Donuts have concerns about their future but they thought of the public first by giving away free food.
In a time of such food uncertainty for so many we cant just let it (food) sit here when the power will soon be turned off and everything in our fridges will spoil. Grab some plastic baggies, or Tupperware and come down and grab some free food from us PLEASE. Right now we just want to make sure nothing goes to waste and a little sweetness still makes it out into the world. - Bitchin' Donuts
