Last year the city of Albany made U.S. News and World Reports list of Top 100 U.S. Cities to Live coming at #36 and so far this year our little city has moved up another 6 spots coming in at #30.

According to the Albany Business Review the reason behind the jump this year is basically more jobs and lower housing prices. Apparently:

Albany area unemployment dropped to 4.1 from 4.5 percent.

The area also saw average housing costs drop at a time when costs are on the rise nationally.

Albany's average salary is also slightly higher than the national average.

Not only did Albany come in at #30 in the entire country but #2 in the state. Beating out New York city at #80, Rochester at #39, Buffalo at #33 and only coming in behind Syracuse which came in at #28.
